A "We" company or a "They" company?

From this article.

Quote:
There is this concept of "we companies" and "they companies". I don't know where it comes from. If you do, I'd love to know.

Anyway, "We" companies are built by and for a community of users. Everything (including profits) flows from this core value of serving the users. We companies and their profitability are incredibly sustainable.

"They" companies are traditional companies that seek to optimize profitability at the expense of everything else. These businsses are not sustainable and they tend to overreach and ultimately end up in a long and steady decline.
The thread on the JSPRM headstock made me wonder... is Ibanez a "we" company, or a "they" company? If they're not a "we", are there any guitar companies that are?

definitivly a they company........ yet i think it had been different
those we companies are mostly the ones you might find round your corner.... those small luthiers that build guitars not only for their living! over here in germany there are a lot of guys building guitars on a high level for decent prices and they do care for your comfort and stuff as you are a customer they don't want to loose ... ibanez needn't care for their customers... i think they sell a lot of artist guitars and those cheaper ones for the beginners..... sad to realise all of this, but there's one magical word that explains it all: c a p i t a l i s m

Good point. I think the companies linked in the Jemsite banner qualify as 'we' companies too.

So the second question: was Ibanez ever a 'We'?

Re: A "We" company or a "They" company?

i think they must had been a "we" cuz when they started they shurely had to make a name, and without beeing a "we" making a name is hard to do! vai, satriani (etc...) helped a lot i would say... nowdays all those korn-fans or soad-fans know what an ibanez guitar is and think of what they will want to buy if they start playing the guitar....
yet i dont want to deny the quality of those axes! my rg 1550 is one of the best guitars i've ever played! those prestige axes really kick ass
