Another Which Guitar Should I Get Poll

Cids about to get a new guitar. I have it down to 2 choices.

1) Gibson Explorer in Natural

2) One of those Carvin LP clones

I had an explorer before and loved it, but Im currently without a Les Paul. The Explorer is a lot cheaper, the Carvin is just out of my budget but with some creative financing I can swing it. I know what to expect for the Explorer, I've heard mixed reviews about Carvins.

i think you should save your money because you really don't need another guitar and you get laid off every other month or at least you think you will. i am also pretty sure whatever you will buy you will end up selling here in some weeks/month and let me tell you right now is not a good time to sell.

And not to be rude, but i believe that if you have not enough cash to buy a guitar and you have to finance eventhough you have already alot of other guitars, than something went wrong. Sorry to rain on your parade my friend.

Or you could just buy my Suhr

Saving money isnt going to happen. This is found money from a gear sale, so Mrs CId's rule it has to go to more gear. Besides man, I've been laid off twice in 3 years one time was only a week. Lay offs are part of the job

Oh no my friend, I wouldnt be financing the guitar, I would just have to make some creative moves. Also I no longer have alot of other guitars, due to needing to get some cash together for momma in law cid and Mrs Cid, and deciding I had too many fcking guitars, the cupboard is rather bare. I am now down to a Strat, a Tele and my Martin.

Get the Carvin LP. I want a review from a Gibson fan such as your self. I have been wanting an LP style guitar for some time, and the Carvins look fantastic.

than get the explorer. i just yesterday scored a 84 reissue for 1k. i had a carvin LP here and eventhough they felt nice didn't have the explorer mojo. I love explorers.

The nice thing about the Explorer is my guy gives me the good price on Gibson stuff, he (obviously) cant get Carvin. He came in $500 under musicians friend on my 61 RI SG. Im waiting until he calls me back with a price, but he already told me it would be under a grand.

You could save alot of money if you got one of those China knock offs. I hear they are as good as the real thing. After all Ibanez used to make LP's and they were better than Gibsons.

Not a Gibson fan, as I think their stuff is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated for what it is...

Go for the Carvin. I never heard anything bad from the Carvin owners I personally know.

Gibson.

Example One:

I walk into a bar. I see Cid wailing on the explorer. I stay to watch and think Cid is cool and has it together.

Example Two:
I walk into a bar. I see Cid trying to wail on ....on.....what the hell is that thing?
Is it that Carvin LP CLONE or is the Radio Shack amp it's plugged into making that aweful sound?????( because if you have one, you usually have the other)

This guitar player is clueless and COULD have been playing a Gibson so let's go back to that last bar again where Mrs. Cid was talking to that cool guitar player with the Explorer.

I hope this helps to put things in perspective my bro.

So playing a Carvin makes you a Radio Shack amp playing noob? I take it you never played on any carvins.

The second part of the question is going to be

In the Explorer (which is more than likely what I will get)
Gold pickups or Zebra. Generally I dont like covered pickups, but gold may be just what the guitar needs. Im not a fan of the stock pickups so they will be comming out either way.
