British or American Distortion?

when it comes to tube screamers (which i rarely use, so it doesnt really matter) I go for BOSS or Ibanez. The TS-808 is a fantastic pedal

this thread seems to have elvolved...

The other day i picked up a Crunch Box and from all the pedals i've used in the past, this beats anything i've heard. The gain on this is totally amazing and the volume sweep is huge.
For a little box, this thing is amazing and it's a definite keeper for me.

Yeah, I read a review about the new MI Audio range of great pedals. never used one myself, but several people tell me they give you great drive, tone, gain etc.

I love pedals. I love the way a lot of them are designed. They really look cool. The first time I plug in a new pedal is always really exiting to me! And then I go on the adventure of discovering all the different sounds that are in there... It fantastic! Just looking at all my different pedals I get all exited! With all the little lights... It's great. I really like the way Boss pedals look. With all the fantastic colors... And the Digitech Whammy is fantastic too!

They really improved the design of it by making it red, IMO.

This one's looks really cool too.

I'm pritty sure the Origional red whammy (WH-1) came first, followed my the Whammy II.

Woops! I read it wrong on wikipedia. My bad. You guys are right: the red WH-1 came first.

The 2 was so much better, I wish they reissued that. I had one and stupidly sold it. I have a WH-1 RI, or whatever they call it, but being able to control the 2 with buttons you could push with your foot instead of that knob was a far better design.

Both have their uses, but I prefer British myself. Not a fan of Marshall though, Laney is more of my thing
