I can get a decent tone with either. If I have to choose it's definetly th gritty brit distortion ooooohhhh yeah.

british as far as i have heard. to me, the distortion seems smoother, not as buzzy.

It's funny that y ou put that up, when I had a Marshall full stack, I used to joke that I was going to snap the "LL" off all the components.
