Do you keep the truss rod cover screwed in?
I noticed Herman Li (dodges flames* doesn't have his
truss rod
plate cover on his guitar. I am wondering how many people do this. I took mine off because it was kinda annoying when I was adjusting the truss rod...

I leave it on, 'cause i only adjust the truss rod once or twice a year.

If the guitar has one, then yes it stays on.

Truss and trem covers should always stay, in the case.

Trem covers should be left in the purse of the trem user, by the tampons and lipstick.

Re: Do you keep the truss rod cover screwed in?
Covers serve no useful purpose, unless you can't tollerate the sight of a truss nut, or
trem springs
. On the other hand anybody serious about playing should also be serious about maintaining the playing form of his instrument. Guitar starts running sharp because you're warming it up a quick claw adjustment will tame it, just as the opposite is true. If you live in a stable clime where your guitar never goes out of tune or adjustment, please share the location so the rest of us can move to Nirvana also

It's not that my climate is perfect, far from it, I just don't adjust
that
often.
A few times a year max for me so it's no trouble taking off the coves, and with the covers on it looks cleaner to me.

Re: Do you keep the truss rod cover screwed in?
I take them off and leave them off. Why? Well, for the truss rod, it's a pain in the butt to get those little screws in place with the strings on so I just take it off and leave it off. I adjust my truss road as I need to and when I need to, I figure why mess with the
truss rod cover
. Like Rich said, it's not like it's protecting anything.

Truss rod cover on always....
Back plate for trem off always. Back plate for volume/tone pots on always...
I hate looking at the truss rod on my headstock, it's akin to my whole pickguard thing. A guitar looks bad to me without its truss rod cover.
I do far more adjustments to the trem and springs than to the truss rod...
