Do you use reverb?

For live? For small venues? Big venues? Why or why not?

If you don't have reverb, you're not a rock star (even if only in your head)!

Re: Do you use reverb?

as far as lead and soloing is concerned reverb is the most important effect in my view try playing a solo without reverb it sounds crap.if your playing live in a big hall then theres no need for much reverb, depends on the venue.in some small clubs its hard to get a decent sound so reverb is needed more.as far as playing in the house i use a little bit on rythum channel and quiet a bit on lead channel.

Re: Do you use reverb?

I like mild reverb for clean and rhythm playing but for solos I've got to add some delay.

@skins, why not just use the reverb on your amp?

Re: Do you use reverb?

No reverb for me. I like the tone from the tube amp to be as pure as possible.

With a good tube amp, you don't need it. Think Guthrie Govan here.

It's cool though for some effects and i still like those 80's guitars sounds.

but guthrie's dry tone has nothing to do with his amp being nice.. it's all a preference to the type of sound he tries to get. a dead dry tone w/ no delay or verb does not work in many styles of music

@axemanrio

Because it's not very good

That's the only source I have at the moment, so that is what I'm using at the moment, but it's really sterile and just sounds messy.

Re: Do you use reverb?

I leave it on 90% of the time, except when playing some stuff. Like it doesnt seem to work so well for megadeth songs and other thrash metal stuff

Re: Do you use reverb?

I turn on the delay on leads, and that's all.
Reverb generates a lot of unwanted feedback on my rig.

Re: Do you use reverb?

I hate reverb and delay as well, I think if you want your sound the be more upfront don't use reverb. Besides natural reverb is always there

Re: Do you use reverb?

I use a little of it all the time, but I really only play clean, on the front humbucker, with the tone set to about 3 or 4 I'm not using distortion at all any more, and would actually rather play through my transistor PA system than my any of my tube amps. My playing is totally changing these days.
