Downloading...Wah joo tink? :?:

Since we are all obviously very opinionated about this let's hear it in it's poll version.

I tried to add enough options but someone will come up with a great one that I overlooked. Sorry in advance.

This should be very funny...

I am morally opposed to illegal downloading. Musicians already get screwed hard enough with how much they make per CD.

Re: Downloading...Wah joo tink? :?:

I usually download the music and if I like it I buy it if I dont I delete it

But most of the time if they have a cool booklet or cover I buy it as thats the thing you cannot get when you download music

Also you cant beat the smell of a new CD out of the plastic wrapping lol

I download some music but a lot of the time the quality sucks (get what you pay for I suppose) so I just buy it.

I do, but if I like it, I'll buy the CD or see the band live.

I buy used CDs fron cdnow.com, and burn them into my Zune. I don't buy single downloads from online stores, or download for free illegally.

Re: Downloading...Wah joo tink? :?:

I'm for it and against it. Being a musician, I know how hard it is to make a living, and therefore I don't usually agree with it. On the other hand, it allows people to "try before you buy" and discover new artists they might never have the chance to hear, or to turn down a CD they might have wasted their money on. It's great when people discover a new band and then purchase their CD's and see them live, tell their friends, etc.

Double edged sword. CD's are pretty cheap nowadays, whether it's used ones on e-Bay or Amzaon, whatever. I'd rather not download stuff, you can't beat owning the real thing. I respect bands who don't mind people downloading their stuff if they can't afford it. Radiohead come to mind -- they put their last album up for download and allowed people to pay what they thought it was worth. Ronnie Size said in an interview that he just wanted people to hear the music, and if it meant they had to download it, then so be it. Nine Inch Nails are not against downloading... all these guys have the right approach, in my opinion. If you enjoy the band, you should try and support them and give something back for their efforts.

MySpace has been a good thing. YouTube also.

I try out a lot of bands and i must say that i like only a few artists/ groups/ bands. I've bought so many LP's/ CD's before the internet that dissapointed me. If i like it: i will buy it.

Same for me. Anything I download that I like, I buy, and I delete the rest.

Rock on!
