ebo or fernandes sustainer?

I was telling some people that i wanted to purchase a fernandes sustainer kit and everyone was telling me i should just get an ebo. Then ebo is cheaper it think. Which one would you get if you were looking into them?

Fernandez will sustain any and all the notes you hold down with your left hand. The ebow, as the name implies is used to simulate bowing on one string at a time. I would personally go with the fernandez, as it can do everything ebow can do and more (eg. you can select intensity, harmonics, etc from your pots)

I agree,,, the ebow is great for messing around in the studio or what ever,,,,it definitely has "kick ass appeal". I've been stumbling with that one for years. I've used the Ebow and love it. There about 70 to 80 bucks new, much cheaper than a Sustainer unit. However it's very limited. I have used the ebow enough times to realize that I want Sustainer for my 7 string. Which is probably what will happen to you,,,,, you'll find the some really cool tones,harmonics etc... and end up wanting more. If you all ready know that you want a Fernandez sustainer,,,then I would suggest "get one" you won't be dissappointed,,,,You might be low on funds,,,but it's worth it 100%.

I found the Ebow neat, but extremely awkward to use. You've got find it, you can't pick or anything while you're holding it, then put it down and remember where you dropped it for next time... I say get a sustainer and let us know how you like it.
