Alex of Zachary guitars or Ed of Ed Roman guitars.

Yeah, Alex is actually trying to help people, not rip them off. He has a waiting list YEARS deep, yet he still makes each guitar by hand, one at a time. Zachary guitars are like Picasso, production guitars are like polaroids...

I really do respect Alex, he lives about 5 hours from me and I fully intend to try out a Zachary next time I'm in Windsor (If I prove myself... worthy?).

This thread was for comedic value, really.

Side note: Dino, did you have to prove your ability to play to Alex before he sold you a guitar?

I think Alex's point is that the guitars he builds are not intended to be left hanging on a wall or something. Playing ability has little to do with it, he just wants you to enjoy the guitar, use it, and treat it properly!

To some degree yes. I emailed back and forth with him for some time... and I was a member of his forum for a while before he agreed to sell me Lara. He listened to some crap I recorded for my myspace...

I bought this one from some D*****bag in California who experimented on it by relocating the strap buttons in several different locations. Didn't even drill a pilot hole, just screwed into the wood wherever he wanted. He was bothered by how he ruined the guitar so he put it up for sale on fleabay. When I got it Alex demanded that I ship it to him immediately. Disgusted by what was done to the guitar(and how much I paid for it,) Alex fixed every single hole and did a complete setup FREE OF CHARGE. It was like a new guitar when I got it back. Try and get Ed Roman or PRS to do that...
