Carvin is great!
Their California Carved Top CT6M is the best
playing guitar
I have ever played, it's like a PRS but costs only 1500$.

Yes in the States it does cost that much. Try calling your local distributor then it's more like 2500 - 3000 USD.

Hmm looks like an improved/altered Maxxas design indeed. I guess I'm going to have to switch sides now. Oh wait...3400 Euros for a Horizon III custom.

Re: ESP VS Ibanez!
I think these days I'd probably be looking at a new ESP, but I'd still rather have an older Ibanez.
And what's with that dodgy half-baked front cutaway on that Horizon III - it looks like a great idea poorly executed to me
?

That's kinda true but I don't think they would cost over 2500 dollars anywhere. I found one in Finland and it was 1990 euros and after few months they had a discount and the price was 1560 euros.

Re: ESP VS Ibanez!
The reason why I would never go for a ESP is that heel on the neck joint on ESP guitars. I hate that neck joint on ESP guitars.
I really love the AAJN neck on
Ibanez guitars
. It is really awesome. I want full acces on the high frets and I don't like neck-thru. I bought a cheap Ibanez and I want to say it is really easy to adjust and set-up. I heard lots of stories about Ibanez guitars and I was scared when I bought it.
My S320 came with a very bad set-up at all. It looked really bad when it was shipped to me. 20 minutes later it was perfect. I love how easy it is to tune a Ibanez guitar and how easy it is to set up a Ibanez guitar. I don't think the good giutars have to come perfect at may door. They have to allow me to do any set-up I want on it.
I ask for nothing more.
I go for Ibanez forever or for Gibson SG '61 reissue. No other guitar for me.

Re: ESP VS Ibanez!
They both make fine instruments imho. I own guitars by both manufacturers, and I would say that either brand make comparably excelent guitars in the same approximate price ranges.
There's definately room in my collection for both brands.
Rock on!

Re: ESP VS Ibanez!
Love em both. I'll never part with my ESP M-II Deluxe. It was the first expensive guitar I bought new when I first started in the working world. This was also back in the nonstop weekend gigging days, and it was my #1........broken in by me only,,,,and so it still feels like home everytime I pick it up. However, I recently got into Jems,,,and I have two of those already(77Vbk and 7Vwh), so you can tell where I'm headed
In all honesty, I would like another ESP M-II some day.....but I'm currently obsessed with my Jems and my Jackson USA SL2H above all others . For me, then, I'd say Ibanez Jems and Jackson USA soloists = tied for first, ESP second.

I dunno, the question seems as relevant today as it was in 2006. They both still make guitars don't they? And opinions still exist? Or is it that you just like posting images?

Re: ESP VS Ibanez!
Wow, old thread.
I think ESP makes some pretty nice guitars but i've always put Ibanez at number one. I love the necks on my old UVs -you can't beat the feel of those imo.

Re: ESP VS Ibanez!
Being unbias, comparing a top model ESP and a prestige model from Ibanez, I would say workmanship in producing the Ibanez would be more refine.
