A favourite band thread... is a subjective thread that asks for opinions. If you read my post...it clearly listed Alice in Chains... 'stating' that I am into the thread... and like a band... in the poll. It's not like I responded with "grunge sucks ass.... I like Tiesto."

If we CAN'T talk about bands that we like... why bother posting anything at all? Works both ways.

Grunge sucks! It is godawful wretchedness! I personally have found nothing of use in any of it, except for maybe how not to do things. It's only my opinion though, and doesn't necessarily devalue anyone or their opinions. Do not fear my opinions because they are like @ssholes, everyone has them and they all stink!!

Pearl Jam and STP, but I like some Soundgarden as well.

Foo Fighters!
Of the list I picked Soundgarden. They had a great grunge sound with a certain unique quality to their tunes. A great band! Pearl Jam and STP are right up there too.

Nothing wrong with grunge imo. Some people are incredibly closed minded when it comes to music. "That band/genre/guitarist/etc sucks" "They're not technical enough" "They didn't contribute anything to music" get very irritating after a while. Some people should lighten up. Just because 'America is a free country' doesn't mean you can't say anything you want, if for no other reason than not to come off as a complete jerk.

I really like Alice in Chains, personally.
