I chose 90s. But many people in here are right, its hard to say because every decade has had its share of crap as well as good stuff. Ill list some of the best 90s bands grouped by musical stylings. these lists could go on forever so i just chose a few bands to represent each distinct style. I left off a lot of the obvious shred albums that you all would normally pick, so dont wonder why any of those are missing

I could go on and on, but the 90s exploded with diversification that hadnt been seen by the masses until that point imo. And besides leaving out most of the obvious metal, i also left out groups like the pixies, sonic youth, and the meat puppets etc. that all did not start in the 90s but were still going into and in some cases through the 90s.
I was lucky to have a dad and neighbor who loved to scout out for bands flying under the radar and I continued that tradition with the use of the internet in middle school, high school, college, and still now myself. Luckily I was exposed to all the classics from their record collection as well, but I still love the 90s.
