Favorite musical era/decade

What's your favorite decade and why?

I'm an 80's guy, as well as a Beatles disciple...but I feel the best decade was definitely the 70's, it's what continues to impress me as a musician and writer...

Everybody was making great music then, and with real instruments too!!!

Depends on what to rate the decade by.
The 50s had nice curvy women, the 60s had great cars and music, the early to mid 70s had great music until that disco thing the 80s were just embarassing I'm sure the 90s had some redeeming qualities and ths 00s bring us back to hot women.

You know, I've only heard a number of songs from the 50s. Same for the 60s and everything else. I'm really not that knowledgable so I really couldn't say.

But the 90s and early 00s... Most of the commercial stuff that I've heard is crap. Fake crap. That's pretty much the only stuff that appeared on my radar. There were also real musicians around. But I've never really delved into it.

It does seem to me that some of the commercial stuff from the 50s, for instance, was more honest than, say, all those awful boybands from the 90s. A lot of modern pop music is just a joke.

70s was good too... think I was a Disco Kid in a previous life

Give me distorted guitars playing fast solos backed by synth drums and dramatic/cheesy (delete as applicable) keyboards anyday!

Well I voted 90's, its easy the best for me. Going by the metal/alt scene etc and not the Top 40 radio charts throw away rubbish
