Question

favorite pickup for soloing (nominations)

sorry if this has already been done.

name your favorite pickups for leads/soloing. name some for bridge, and some for neck.

a week from now ill take all the nominations and make 2 polls, one for bridge, one for neck.

im doing this nomination thread so that when i make the polls nobody can complain to me that i forgot to list their favorite pickup so make a list here and ill get them into a poll next week

Something with character, and not a humbucker in the neck position. I like single coils in the neck... a souped-up Hendrix tone. For bridge, it depends, I can't pin it down to one pickup, but Bill Lawrence L-500 is great for metal.

Re: favorite pickup for soloing (nominations)

nice, more replies than i expected.

ill throw in my favorite, although ive had limited experience with pickups.

i like the fred and paf joe combination in my js1000. lots of clarity and mids, especially on the fred.

ill give this thread until friday 5/9, then ill make a poll.

thanks for all who have contributed so far

Depends on what I'm playing, but overall Evolutions are on the top of my list.
