bombtrack, come as you are and nothing else matters, which is probably why I love playing songs with arpeggios

Re: The first song you learned to play on a guitar.

just chords for both Taylor Swift Love Story and Rod Stewart Maggie May

Maggie broke my heart and loved Taylor Swift...funny how that works!

Now I'm looking up Maggie May, it's been awhile...

Re: The first song you learned to play on a guitar.

It might be a bit cliche, but the first riff I learned was the intro to One by Metallica. Think I learned smoke on the water shortly after.

Cliffs of Dover of course. Ok, you caught me... Smoke on the Water, followed by a 5 BPM rendition of Crazy Train.

"Thunderstruck" and "Come as you are"
Followed by "Smoke"...
I was never interested in playing "Stairway". After 18 years I still haven't worked on it.

After learning bits and pieces of things (as you do). The first song I learnt all the way though was The Clansman by Iron Maiden. I was just noodling around one way and worked out most of the tune, then learnt the rest!
