For some reason I expected it to be ~Little K that started this thread

It was the first Vai song I ever heard and I've never turned back. One of my fav ALL time tracks. I don't know that it influenced my LIFE, but it definitely had a HUGE influence on my guitar playing. It's also the reason I bought my first Jem (7vwh)

Just my un-dying passion for remaining young

Doesn't really work when you're 24 does it?

Re: FTLOG... good or crud?

I voted for the second option. Not a bad choon, but a bit overblown. There are much better tracks on P&W. The Animal, Answers, The Riddle, Sisters... those are GREAT tracks. But to be honest I'd rather listen to Viv Woman.

PS: I still have my pre-release copy of P&W on cassette in a plain blue cover with simple black text. Never owned the official release, but I guess this tape is ultra rare nowadays. I had it several months before the album came out, it was brought back as a present from a friend who got it in New York, early 1990.

Oddly enough, I had a dream about Steve Vai last night. He stayed at my house and set up my RG3120! He was such a cool guy as well. I remember loads of Jemsiters being extremely jealous when I told them!

Re: FTLOG... good or crud?

I think FTLOG is a great song, but I prefer live versions over the album version...I don't like the album version's tone as much tbh, plus live versions are always good for interesting little variations here and there.
