Furthest You've Travelled to get a Guitar
It appears that people are willing to travel large distances to get guitars rather than trust them to mail services. I've traveled round trip distances of two hundred miles for an RG and four hundred and fifty miles for my Jem.
How far have you gone?

Re: Furthest You've Travelled to get a Guitar
oops, I misread. I thought it said "the furthest you've travelled WITH your guitar". I've never gone more that 50 miles for a guitar. My Jem came from Jersey in good shape through UPS.

Re: Furthest You've Travelled to get a Guitar
To avoid shipping my Marshall 1/2 stack I went a about 400 miles round trip.
I said I would meet anyone locally halfway and I got a guy who after the deal was finalised said he lived in Kentucky, but the deal was pretty sweet and gas wasnt $3.00/gallon so I went ahead with everything.

Johannesburg to Cape Town. About 1 000 miles. It was a business trip and one of my colleagues mentioned an ad for a
Les Paul Studio
and you can guess the rest.

Re: Furthest You've Travelled to get a Guitar
I drove to Nashville from Memphis to get my Strat. It just has that mojo that no other Strats I've played have.
I'm also about to get this specific Tom Anderson after I sell my RG770. I actually played it in Nashville, and I've found someone who actually bought it and wants to turn it around to make a profit.

Re: Furthest You've Travelled to get a Guitar
I only have one guitar, other than my horrible, horrible Harmony acoustic, and that's my Epiphone G-310. I got it at Musician's Friend.
Damn, I feel so poor only having one playable guitar, and a cheap one at that.

I know, man. An old 550 is probably going to be the next guitar I buy. I've been saving up since April. I currently have about $240.
