gas choices

Ok I have been saving for my first "high end" ibanez. I like the simplicity of a fixed bridge. I Have to have 24 frets and a maple board. So well I am torn between these. I am leaning toward the PGM because if its fixed bridge, but i could always block the trem on the other guitars. I do love the tone of a fixed bridge tho.

Re: gas choices

PGM301 - a biased vote because I've been contemplating getting one, tired of floating trems.

Re: gas choices

If you want a fixed bridge then the PGM is the obvious choice!!

But for me personally...i'd pick the RG20th and JEM777DY over it

Of course.......that would be if i didn't already own them

Re: gas choices

since you are also contemplating a "vintage" Jem, may I suggest the PGM90HAM? Ebony beats Maple so...
If I wanted to go fixed bridge that would be my choice, but since I'm not,

PGM301 = AANJ + fixed = yes + no
RG20th = SCHJ + edge = no + no
Jem777DY = FCNJ + lopro = x + yes
RG770 = SCHJ + edge = no + no

DY wins

otherwise if maple is a must
PGM300 = AANJ + lopro
or
JEM90HAM = AANJ + lopro

Re: gas choices

Aren't the pickups of all those guitars way different? Even though they all have maple boards, they all sound way different.

But I voted the PGM, nevertheless. Because of the fixed bridge.

I know the jem is coveted and revered, but I want a fixed bridge. So is the pgm on the same quality level as a jem, or a rg 20th?

Re: gas choices

Tough choice between the DY and the 770... I ended up chosing the JEM because it has DiMarzios and it's YELLOW!!!
