Guitar on left or right leg?
You pick up a guitar, you sit down, do YOU put the guitar go on your right or left leg?
After watching a bunch of youtubers, I'm surprised how many use their right leg. I play much better when it's on my left, classical style. Puts my hands in a more natural position.
You?

Re: Guitar on left or right leg?
Yeah, I found that the best way is the left leg. It prevents you from having to place your hand at an odd angle when on the
high frets
. It also allows better circulation.

Re: Guitar on left or right leg?
I've come to realize the great advantages of the left leg but when I'm just "jammin" it's often the right. 50/50 roughly...

Re: Guitar on left or right leg?
I find it extremely uncomfortable to be on my left leg for some reason. Feels completely unnatural. I tried to get used to it for a while since so many people do it, but it just didn't work for me.

Re: Guitar on left or right leg?
Right leg when I want to play as if I would standing up, and left leg sometimes produces better
guitar playing
for me personally when sitting down, but then a again when I seriously want to learn a new lick or progress on something right leg always...
guess thats why I choose 50/50

Here's one to confuse you. I'm left handed. I play with the guitar on my right leg when sitting down but I play a right handed guitar.

When I sit with a guitar, and the strap goes over my shoulder, the guitar is not even close to my lap. Yep, I like it high.

Re: Guitar on left or right leg?
This is causing me problems at the moment
I find playing easier on the left....but it's not comfortable on my body to sit that way. If i try on my right leg i find i can't play higher up the neck as well and it's uncomfortable having my right arm further round
Nothing is ever straight forward

Andy??? Maybe you're just not a straight,..... forward, kinda guy!? Try crossing your legs at the knee, maybe you'll feel more comfortable with yourself then!

Re: Guitar on left or right leg?
On my left, with my foot elevated on 'something' enough to have my leg at least level, maybe knee up a bit.
