guitar solos, not just cool-sounding!
regardless of style, skill or finesse we all love to break (sometimes spontaniously) into a guitar solo, but i have always wondered, other than sounding awesome, what else can they achieve?

Well you've learn to post a poll..... now, how about a good one.
Or you could just give us your "take" on this subject!?
I guess it could have something to do with conveying emotion? What do you think?

Re: guitar solos, not just cool-sounding!
Hey "Hero"...... seriously, give us your thoughts on this. It (the thread) might get some meaningful response (if you had that intention to start with). Not just look like a poll that's dying a slow death. All joking aside....

Re: guitar solos, not just cool-sounding!
now he know yngwie can tank saddler in resident evil 4!!
my school thinks im a god and im not boastful in anyway, theres a few guitarists round school and there really proud and boastful and nobody thinks highly of them but my bassist friend to is a mega jazz fiend and i are the beasts of our school, and its cool cus of the seek and destroy solo, maybe not all that hard but for non-players its like an eye orgasm so it won us the pride and people looking up to us so i love them

Re: guitar solos, not just cool-sounding!
I would wail on my guitar until saddler's face would melt off from awesomeness. Then i would play at a million bpm which would make everyones heads explode. And then naturally, all the women who's heads didn't explode wouldn't be grossed out by the fact that everyone's heads just blew up all over the place, so they'd be all over that **** too.
