Guitar Storage

I have half of my Guitar collection out of their cases! I enjoy looking at & playing them. I'd hate to just have a bunch of cases piled up and nothing to show for, like those people who buy a Van Gogh just to put it in a safe...

Since we're talking about storage I always use the hard shell cases for that purpose, but usually I have them on stands and ready to go as I don't currently have any case queens! ;-)

What would be the best way to store a guitar in its hardshell case? Horizontal, vertical position or the storage position isn't important

Well I just put up 13 hangers recently, and this can accomodate all the guitars that are in the house, and not in bits at the moment. Previous to this it it was a mixture of cases, soft and hard, and stands.

Honestly in the cramped room I have for my office/guitars/spare room, 13 guitars take up so much space and were always getting dings. I don't mind the odd one, but with 13 you are chipping paint at least once a month.

I try to keep my new guitars in new condition, but I play them too--I don't have any "museum" pieces except for an extra Ibanez 20th Anniversary RG550MXXDY that I'm getting ready to sell.
