Guitar Storage
How do you guys store your guitars? Are they protected at all times when not being played or do you not like using cases and don't mind if your axes have some knocks and dings to them? Multiple choices are available in the poll.
My guitars are all kept in hardcases when not being used. I don't mind very minimal damage to them but prefer them to be as immaculate as possible.

Re: Guitar Storage
Depends on the guitar, most of mine are hung on the wall some are in their cases. Anyone not concerned with humidity is an idiot and deserves the damage their guitars take.

Re: Guitar Storage
At any given time a few will be on the guitar stand, the rest in their cases, but I rotate them so they all get time out of the box.

Re: Guitar Storage
I have a rack for my nice electric guitars, a separate stand for my acoustic, and the crap ones lying around the house. Oh yeah, and one on a stand next to the couch in the living room. Most important place for a guitar.

Re: Guitar Storage
I just put my few guitars in simple gigbags. My main axe, an RG350ex (don't laugh please :P) is in a simple gigbag and in a floor stand, waiting to be played.

Re: Guitar Storage
I hang my solid bodies. Hollow bodies and acoustics I usually keep cased.

Re: Guitar Storage
i store my untouchable ones in hard cases, while the others rest on stands, to be picked up quick or shown to friends. and i put an humidifier into each case, and one (bigger) in the room. it sucks up about half a liter of humidity each 2 weeks. gosh...

Re: Guitar Storage
i usually keep my unplayed guitars in their cases for a long while because i hate the dust build-up they receive when i keep them on my guitar stands.

Solid bodies I keep in stands but my acoustics stay in the case when I'm not playing them.

Re: Guitar Storage
all guitars in cases when not using them...the knocks and dings come from playing live..not from storage..I've had them knocked over, kicked ,beer baths and just plain dropped...I'm good to them when they aren't working

Re: Guitar Storage
Hard cases for everything I own. If I'm doing a project in my studio (which happens a lot less as of late
), I will leave a guitar or two on a wall hanger until I'm done. Other than that they are in cases!!

Re: Guitar Storage
I keep my guitars in hardcases, though I also have a couple of older guitars in gig bags. i keep them in a cupboard away from any sunlight or heat.
I don't mind the odd bump or minor scratch, there again if I owned a PRS or an expensive custom plank I'd probably think differently...!
Never really bother about humidity or temperature though. House is at a constant temperature and we're far enough inland from the sea not to have any worries about salt in the air. Plus this part of Scotland isn't exactly known for extreme weather! No high/low humidity worries here.

Re: Guitar Storage
I've got a 5-guitar Rockstand for my electrics, and I keep my acoustic in it's hardshell case. I have hardshell cases for all of them though, for transport purposes.
