Guitar Tone Controls - Yeah or Nay

I'm just curious as to how many folks have tone controls on their guitars and actually use them so here's a poll.

Myself, I've got them on two guitars, my LP Classic and my Brian May guitar. My other guitars, Ibanezes and Charvels don't have them at all.

I don't mind them on my LP because that's my blues/classic rock guitar and there are some tones (for those styles of music) that kind of need a tone control.

The Brian May guitar has one and I use it for a few classic Brian May tones so it's staying.

My Ibanezes and Charvels don't have them and never will. For rock/metal, I'll get a darker tone via pickup selection.

I don't how to say if I use em or not, but I definitely need em, in some pickup for example EVO2 I'll use a 500k tone pot to open up the sound of the pickup but I leave it at full, but when I use paf pro in the bridge I use 250kpots to warm em up a bit, but I still leave it at 10.

I think this is one of those "stay on topic" moments...

Yeah I use them. There's not a lot to say really 'cause their applications are fairly obvious.

Baby carrots are actually full size carrots cut down. Who knew. I agree regardless. Tone all the way up and tear off the knob.

I disconnect or put a push/pull and use it to split coils in all my guitars, They just take away way more than they add in my opinion.

Have 'em, don't really use them much, only just started using the volume pot after 30 years of playing!

Not using the tone control is like driving a car and never going reverse. It's possible, but it will make things harder sometimes.
