Re: how do you tap...
If I'm going to do a longer passage, I put the pick in my mouth and use 1,2 & 3 so none of them get too fatigued.

Re: how do you tap...
2nd finger usually, but like jemaholic said, longer passages, I just drop (or bite) the pick and get it later. Funny thing is, I originally learned the EVH way (1st finger) but after a while it didn't feel right anymore.

Re: how do you tap...
if it's something quick, 2nd finger, longer, i'll either put the pick in my mouth or hold it with my middle finger and my palm and use my first finger.

Re: how do you tap...
depending on how much tapping I'm gonna do, I use every finger. If it's only a short passage then I usually just use my pick. My fretboard is probably going to suffer for that one day...

Re: how do you tap...
I find tapping with the middle finger the most "efficient" way of tapping. IMO, it sorta looks funny when you tap with your index finger for some reason.

It should be the index finger. The first is the thumb. I prefer tapping with my middle finger because it's just easier and quicker.

Re: how do you tap...
I tap in different ways. I tap like
Joe Satriani
does it, with a pick instead of a finger. And I tap with my first and second finger. But I voted for '1st finger', because I think I use that finger most to tap.
Kind regards,
Myst and rain

Re: how do you tap...
2nd finger usually, but whatever finger works at the time, since I'm not that good at tapping.
