Re: Ibanez Logo?

The Ibanez RG550 Reissue Headstock...

Notice how they didn't feel the need to plaster RG-20TH ANNIVERSERY all over it, even though it would've been the same deal as plastering PRESTIGE all over the prestige line, the irony being that the reissues are even more prestigious that the actual prestige line, only 1987 made worldwide etc, and yet Ibanez left the logo alone.
Well done on that part, now do the same to the others. Bring back the edge/lo-pro/ while you're at it. And the original wizard. F**k it, just reissue the RG550 full term and let us all have one.

P.S, prestige logo is definately worse than the "classic".

Re: Ibanez Logo?

Also, check this out. . .

Classic Logo.

Prestige Logo.

Is it just me, or does the guitar with the prestige logo seem kind of "unbalanced" compared with the classic logo.
The lack of definition is obvious, but I think it might actually be making the guitar (this guitar, anyway) look off balance somehow.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't like it anyway.

Classic for me...
Prestige is too barren, makes me think of Hondo or Westone guitars or something...

Re: Ibanez Logo?

The prestige headstock is bland. I like the classic. This is why I bought 2 rg20ths, theyre prestige but the headstock logo is cool too.

It's not just you, "unbalanced" is a good way of describing it.

Thank god for that. I really don't understand why they made the decision of butchering their perfectly good logo that nobody had a problem with.
They've already introduced a crap load of crappy trems to seperate the bottom-line from the top-line, why do we need a different* logo to boot?

* immensely worse

Why Ibanez felt the need to change to logo they had for years with this one is beyond me.

Re: Ibanez Logo?

I like the prestige logo,,,however I think it should be a rule! That all Prestige headstock match the body! Black is ok on the dark guitars,,,however Black on a white body? WTF,,,, RG1527M is a perfect example. Beautiful guitar...but....that black head stock it like a frik'n smudge. If I ever get one the first thing I'll do is paint the head stock!

On that guitar the black headstock looks ugly, but on a a RG2550Z galaxy white, it looks good.

Re: Ibanez Logo?

If I had a prestige model to break the headstock up a bit I'd stick something like this 'Flaming Star' truss rod cover on it. It's pictured here on the 'classic' headstock but picture this on a prestige headstock.
