If Rich gave you $5000....

The Gigir guitar thread got me thinking....

Imagine for a minutes that Rich found $5000 laying around in an old guitar case, and in an absurd burst of charity, decided to give you $5000 credit toward anything he sells. What would you get?

I guess the debate is, if you worked your butt off and saved $5000. would you choose something different that if you were givin $5000 credit free at Rich's?

The Chromie is still my dream guitar. Though $5000 wouldn't get it, it'd get me close.

It would be very charitable all right, but it would stay in the family, consiering my son lost his house to foreclosure and then lost his car to an 18 wheeler this year [1 month after I had him take full coverage off of it]. $5k would just begin to ease the bleeding ;/

But then, might I suggest a new VWH, a JS1200, and then something to fill in the gap?

I think I'd get a nice pair of PGM's and donate the rest to Rich's son.

WTF, wwoowww! Sorry to hear that Rich, that's how **** works for us regular folks! If our last name was Bush, Gates, or etc... it would have worked out in our favor! Who knew Rich had a child, never knew that! Best of luck! Is he a shredder? I guess you could always sell a Donnie or 2 to make up for that.......I wouldn't neither though!

Re: If Rich gave you $5000....

I have grand kids.

They're in the process of learning how to live on what they actually make. There comes a time when only tough love will get through, and that time has come. And even that cost me 10k. He had a nice chunk of estate income this year and I won't give it to him [nor would I take it as repayment], it's in an account earmarked for their next house down payment when the time comes. Plus I just fought the carpetbaggers that ended up with his house into a 5k settlement, going into the same account. I was on the verge of repurchasing the house to flip it but in the end I don't have the time and it's the worst time of year heading into winter. I'm happy it ended in cash settlement.

Quite right Rich.
Sue's daughter is 20 now and learning how to make her own way

Can't make a months wage last longer than a week - and she's on reasonable money too - and Sue only asks for £100/month for keep.

Can't stand the types who go running to mummy/daddy to bail them out - and more so the numb parents who keep bailing them out..........

Emma applied for a credit card about 3 months ago - Sue intercepted it and handed it to Emma - cut into pieces in a clear plastic bag!!!! Priceless

Sue and even some of her mates said don't get one.........

So she had her mail redirected to a mates and got the card (we found out later) and now has about £1200 on the card within a month or two - dimwit!

I hate credit - my philosophy is "If you ain't got the dough - you don't buy it" - simple! (houses excepted, and maybe a car)

Aaaah......... the long and winding road of transforming from teenager to adult......... sadly most "adults" still haven't done it
