Re: If you could only have one?
I'd go for a Strat, maybe dig out a bit of a rout behind the bridge, fit a
Floyd Rose
, enlarge the cutaways fit some screaming pickups, some cool wiring and respray it bright green.
What do you mean it's already been done

Re: If you could only have one?
Strat all the way.I've had a
Les Paul custom
(ZW) ,Studio and a PRS Custom 22,I was least impressed with the Prs.After wanting one for years I got one and sold it a couple of months later. The
Les Paul studio
was a great guitar, especially for the money, that had to be sold to pay for motorbike repairs! Ive had my strat for about 10years and still love it

Same with Les Pauls!!!! If we're talking pros's, prs users are probably outnumbered on both counts!!!

Re: If you could only have one?
I have to pick the Les Paul-the scale length is only 24 3/4-I've owned Prs's and strats-I can't do my left hand legato stretches on a 25"' scale Prs or a 25 1/2 scale Fender for long without seriously damaging my hands-I'm 5' 6" tall. I think the single cut sounds better than the 24 due to the
neck pickup
location. As for Strats-they're a lot like women very demanding and temperamental but if you're lucky enough to find the right one -you'd better stick to it till your dying day....ask Jimi, Gilmour,Yngwie,
Jeff Beck
,Trower, SRV..etc.

Re: If you could only have one?
I voted strat. Les Pauls are too heavy, and
PRS guitars
look gimmicky to me. And maybe I'm just the right size - but I find strats the most comfortable guitars out there.

I guess I'm the only one who detected your sarcasm
The PRS I owned (2000 Custom 22 10 top w/trem) was absolutely fantastic. It was one of the best sounding instruments I ever owned, very very rich deep tone. I got rid of it because the neck was a bit fat for my little paws and I HATED the thick finish on the neck. One day I will find (or order) one with a wide/thin rosewood neck. I think that would be great. But other GAS attacks have taken priority.

Re: If you could only have one?
PRS CE 24. Unless the Strat had a Floyd and a humbucker in the bridge. Then, I'd pick the Strat.
