Jackson dk2 or Ibanez RGT42

Ok I found these 2 guitars used for the same price. I like the jackson since its a japanese model. Its also the ugly flame finish but that makes it somewhat rare since they were hand painted and signed by the artist. They also came with actual seymore duncan pickups.

Ibanez has 5 piece neck through construction. its an 03 model in the black/grey colour. Supposedly from reviews the pick ups are junk and need replaced. Its also a korean model which kinda sucks.

Which one to get, Right now Im leaning towards the dk2 but my mind changes every 15 mins.

I'd go with the Jackson.

I personally wouldn't waste my time with either one, but if I had to waste my time with one, I'd go with the Jackson and replace the pickups pronto.

when it comes to mid range guitars i think jackson wins this battle. I recently got a Kvx10 King v, put a gotoh and some duncans in it and it plays just as well as my rg550 20th anny. and the jackson swirls look so awesome....Totally different from ibanezs swirls tho

I'd say get the jackson. Or save your money and look at better guitars than these.

The RGT is a good guitar. With a pickup upgrade, it's definitely better than the Dinky, IMHO.
At least, it's a neck-thru...

My only beef w/ the RGT is the trem. The Jackson is a decent guitar and I personally like the flame paint job. I have an RGT but mine is the FX bridge version (fixed bridge) which is what I'd take over any of the non-Prestige Ibanez trem models. Let us know what you decide and SHOW pics

ive had a jackson dk2,i thought it was a heap of s.h.i.t.swapped it for a xbox360+games what a bargain

Ive got the same RG your looking at. They just feel like a better guitar overall. Pickups suck, I upgraded to a pafpro(n) and a steves special in the bridge. Go IBanez!

I've played them both, and I'd go with the Jackson no question. I had the flames Jackson, but it didn't get any love behind the VWH so I let it go. It was a nice guitar though, absolutely.

Well the jackson was sold. I picked up the 2003 RGT42 Black Pearl for $200. Awesome deal. Im definetly happy with it so far. Just got it home. Need to take it apart and clean it up and re-string it. Here are some pics of it as I got it. Couldn't find any flaws in the finish too!
