Well actually, the idea for this poll came from the 'Men + action movies = ???' thread. The James Bond month on Veronica is just a funny coincidence.
Yesterday 'For your eyes only' was on TV. I watched a bit. It was cool. That guy with the pistachios is funny.

I noticed that. Yesterday I saw a scene in which he could save this villain, but pushed him off a cliff instead! What a jackass.

One of my favourites is 'The living daylights'. There are some amazing stunts in that movie. It's cool when they go ride the cello case in the snow! That movie also has one of the coolest posters, I think.

Kind regards,

i don't get the "novelty" thing.... how can an actor who defined 007 on the big screen and made the character one for the ages be a "novelty".

i'm a huge Bond fan - seeing each since man with the golden gun in the theatres - and it's not even close...

there is Connery bond and then there is the rest.

Lazenby is a mistake and mulligan
Dalton was the wrong guy for the job.
Moore did a great job being different from Sean and being different but was "bond" in a sense he owned the character and role.
Brosnan was great in Goldeneye (and the others) but was hampered by bad actresses and bad scripts.... total waste of potential. Lets hope the new one is good and sets the table for a nice run of Bond films... glen

Re: James Bond

well Mr Tom Gilroy !! you certainly examined my post in depth

I think the general concensus here is that Connery set the bar and then after that, everyone has their fave !!! - and not everyone reads the books... to get a real idea of the character of Bond....

Personally I think that Bond is now a dinosaur (stated tongue in cheek by Dame Judy Dench in a recent film) and no amount of high risk stunts is going to change that fact on film...

having said that, I watch Bond films with a zero critical eye now and just enjoy them for what they are... a romantic spy adventure with loads of action...

Im hoping Daniel Craig can enhance the role of Bond - I havent seen it still but im hopeful....

Re: James Bond

Tough call between Connery and Moore but I chose Roger because he's the Bond I grew up with in the 70's. However, Connery's Bond also kicks ass - he's the original. Those two are my favorites.

Well, I guess I liked Timothy Dalton best. He was a cool James Bond.

And I guess I should have re-phrased the question in the first post there. It's kind of confusing, I agree. Just like the 'The coolest JEM?' poll. Where you could choose more that one. I'll be clearer in the future.

Kind regards,

The whole 'shhaushage shhandwitch with shhauce', people have picked his manurisms apart so much (i find) its hard to take him really seriously. I would say hes the best if people hadnt ruined his character so much.

Re: James Bond

Tough to choose between Craig and Connery, but I'd say Craig. I've seen some previews and I definitely like the new Bond. When I first saw Craig in 'Munich', I'd thought that he'd never pull it off. But after seeing the previews I'd say that he is the best since Connery (and then some). Well, hopefully when it's released here the movie will be what I've looked forward to.

Judging by just the previews is the dumbest thing I have ever heard....
