Jem7VWH?
I love the original "Bad Horsie" & "Neville." I'm thinking of getting a brand new 7VWH & stripping the paint off the day I get it, or the day after...lol! I'm really not into the 7VWH, even though I think it looks awesome. Too synonymous with Vai, plus I think it looks better plain. I really don't know why I'm doing this thread\poll, because everyone (almost) will say keep it white. However, I'm just interested in what you guys think. Would you strip the white paint or keep it white?

Re: Jem7VWH?
I would just ask if you're GOOD enough at doing it yourself to strip the paint..? I wouldn't want you to go out, spend a TON of money, and then ruin the guitar..

Re: Jem7VWH?
Now that I think about it, I guess I would be better-off buying a used one on Da Bay, especially with an ebony neck!!!

i voted original
but that was only cause there is no way i would buy a brand new JEM and modd it
BUT depending on the price you get on a used one i would strip it,
it looks really cool just bare wood

A guitar has to reflect some of the owners personality. I think if you can afford it go for it!

And what, swap over the parts? What would be the point of that, same difference.

No, you would be able to keep the original body in white in case you ever sell it. I agree the natural look is nicer, but if I ended up with a mint used or new, I would just order a replacement body.

Re: Jem7VWH?
I'm in the middle, Neville is my favorite Ibanez of all time and I want one desperately. My advice though is like some people said, get one off the Bay(a Jem7vh that is) and sand away, no reason to drop 2 grand on a guitar your gonna refinish. In fact every now and then you see a stripped 7VWH on ****, although people often tend to put too high a reserve on them and they don't sell.
Btw, I like it with the dots, aka the actual Neville:

So sexy...
Good luck bro.

Re: Jem7VWH?
A stripped 7V isn't ever going to look like Neville because natural finished alder (or basswood) will never look like natural finished ash or mahogany. If you want that look, buy (or have built) a new body.
