Re: JPM & EBJPMM
Looks-wise, I think the Ibanez is nicer, but not if you're talking about the BFR
Petrucci
. Versatility-wise, the EBMM wins hands down. Just my opinion.

Re: JPM & EBJPMM
Yeah, I agree with olie. Th EB is a great guitar but it's asthetic quality is severely lacking. Their guitars always look overly compact and stocky. I think it's because of the wierd headstock.

Re: JPM & EBJPMM
Having owned a
JPM
. It's a nice unit. Only, I found myself not playing it much. That seems to be how I gauge it. If It hangs on the wall, and I grab something else consistently, then it gets sold. And the JPM got sold. As did the Jem, the Prestige, the several JS's and all the RG's. I like em, I just don't find myself gravitating to them very long. I have found every Ibanez I've owned to be great at first, nice to have around after a while, then just cash hanging on the wall. I still plan on taking my chances with an Timmons unit one of these days. I'd also say that in the end, I find them all to be colorless tonally. They sound and play good, but they inspire nothing creatively in me.

Yeah, I guess the EBMMJP falls into the catagory 'love it or hate it'. Personally I think it's very pleasing to the eye. It's not your avarage looking guitar, imo, but that's not a bad thing in this case.

So what's your main axe now, then? Iirc, you had some kind of Les Paul-ish guitar, right?

Re: JPM & EBJPMM
I think the only thing about the
EBJPMM
is that the body doesn't naturally curve down, its pretty noticeable, especially in pictures like above
As for the JP1's and all those of the Ibanez series, I hate the graphics on them

Re: JPM & EBJPMM
just put up a picture of the JPM90HAM and the results would be 99-1 in favour of JPM.

Re: JPM & EBJPMM
I really don't care for JPM because I don't really care for guitars with graphics. I especially like the BFR Petrucci model.

My thoughts exactly. I had the pleasure of owning rg-Art1 and the top on that was deeeelicious! But The JPM90HAM being darker it really adds some depth and mystique to the top... But a sunburst quilt topped BFR Petrucci is a thing of beauty, too.
Still, my vote goes to pointy headstocks!
