My friend I gotta tell you I worked for a lot of studios as a recording engineer and all behringer equipment suck comparing to other labels.
Of course it's cheap cause it doesn't do what it should do.
Compressors don't work properly or at least like the other labels.
Equalizers never alter the right frequency,it's a mess.
Behringer pedals are a joke comparing to boss or digitech.
Sorry but my experience with behringer is = NO THANKS lol

I have a Behringer wah pedal in my rig and I won't even consider the change.
I also have a Behringer Virtualizer for reverbs only. Nothing to say, either!

No, I got the point, but I felt like being an a - hole
And Behringer doesn't suck apart from the many things that they make that instantly brake down.

If you actually read that article it does say that in the real world people compare apples to oranges all the time and in fact that although a useful phrase, that the idiom itself is flawed.
Thus I say comparing a Mk V to an Axe FX IS like comparing apples to oranges, and thus a very valid comparison.
Do you want an all singing all dancing processor and amp modeller or do you want to make some glass bottles glow?
Which piece of fruit do you fancy today?

People may compare apples to oranges all the time but when they do, what criteria are they using to compare them? While they both may be fruit, they are very different in many ways. They are different colors, different textures and taste different. To say an apple is better than an orange or vice versa is highly subjective. If I say that an apple is better than orange, no one can disprove me because it is my opinion which is based upon the values and requirements that I have deemed most important to me.
If one wishes to compare any digital modeler a tube amp then you need to:
- Clearly identify all the components being compared
- Features
- Flexibility
- Ease of use
- Initial cost
- Maintenance costs.
- Weight
- Size
- Reliability
- Consistency of tone (How does it sound at a low volume? At a high volume? Does it sound change over time (months)?
All of the above are objective elements and have nothing to do with sound quality (tone) which is highly subjective. Once the objective elements have been detailed then personal values can be associated with each one.
For example, if cost is not an issue for the buyer than it can be removed from the list of comparative criteria.
While sound quality is generally considered the most important criteria when selecting an amplification solution, this element can become irrelevant if each of the the rigs being compared can both create the tones the buyer wants.
The main reasons that most people have difficulty choosing gear is that they have difficulty separating the objective (specs or facts) from the subjective (opinion) and they have not clearly identified the features that are most important to them.
I sold gear to guitar players for almost 12 yrs. Some players knew what they wanted and some did not until I asked them the right questions.

Nope, they're just jealous. Kill them now! You'd be better off raised by chickens - look at Buckethead, didn't do him any harm.

Mark IV as it was the best of the list, IMO, however, as Jono said, the Mk V is the newest to date and is supposed to have the Mark IIC+ tone built in.
