The same producer makes lots of models so you can buy 2 pickups that have completly opposite characteristics. One can be trebly and thin while another can be muddy and bassy but they are both made by the same producer.

You have to spend lots of money on many pickups from ONE producer, find a point of reference and then you will know what you want. When someone sell you something you will know to tell him WHAT you want. Even if you go for a new producer you will know what you want.

Now it's obvious you have no idea what you want.

If the people at Bare Knuckles ask you what you want and you tell them you want "tonefull pickups" I doubt they can sell you one certain pickup model. I guess everyone wants "tonefull" pickups. Unfortunatelly "toneful" means different things to different people.

Just learn to read.

hmmmm....so you didn't read the: ''which are the most toneful pickups for your ears? on which body?'',,, no?

i'm fookin asking you guys! -_- goshhhhh tell me your opinions not WHAT i wont!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: most toneful pickups

OK. To make it clear I can find tonefull pickups in any producer.

For example in the bridge of my guitars I like the Super 3 from Dimarzio, The Custom Custom from Duncan Seymour and I like the Painkillers from Bare Knuckles.

In the neck I like the Evolution bridge from DiMarzio, the Painkiller from Bare Knuckles or ... uhm ... I don't remember the model I liked from Duncan Seymour.

What I meant before was you can find tonefull pickups in any brand. It all depends on the model you pick.

I stay with DiMarzio for now because I am used with wiring, colors, tones and charts from DiMarzio.

There are many reasons why you go for one brand or another as for tone it all depends on model and preferences. For someone tonefull means hissy, thin and trebly, for another one the bassy muddy tone is tonefull.

You could have told anyone about a guitarist or a guitar that has a tonefull sound for your ears and that could help a lot.

I think it's not late yet. Just let everyone know what it means for you "tonefull".

I just told you what sounds good to my ears.

Actually the set of pups I use is a DiMarzio Evolution bridge in the neck and a Super 3 in the bridge. I love them to death.

The only thing I am tempted to put in another guitar is a pair of Bare Knuckles Painkiller.

I think Bare Knuckles are just a bit btter than DiMarzios but that's just my opinion. From all the pups I know I would always go for Bare Knuckles. Unfortunatelly they are expnsive.

Re: most toneful pickups

I like my Duncan JBs in my LP.
I also like the Demon in my old RG550.
I'm also happy with my Dimarzio TONE ZONE, it's versitile enough to chunk out or play a great lead.
It's all so subjective and people are going to have their own ideas about tone and what works best/ sounds best for them.
I'm on the search for my strat right now.
Single coils are a curious beast, then toss in all the hum canceling, lace, EMG, and so on...

I love Dimarzio Blazes the best but the new7 neck pickup sounds really good to me. I also really like the Fred as well.

I think the new 7s sound pretty good too. I had heard really bad things about them and when I bought my first 7620 I was amazed at how good they sounded based on what I was expecting from what people said.

Anything PRS makes. I really don't know how PRS guitars and pups don't get the respect they deserve. They really are the best guitar maker on the planet.

Ivve found Bareknuckles to lack the "hi-fi" edge of my favourite DiMarzios but others don't like that... Not sure whether that makes them more or less toneful though

I didn't say I would ever give up my DiMarzios.

There are many reasons why I love DiMarzios but the Painkillers are the warmest, bassiest and heaviest sounding pickups I ever heard. I just want to buy a new guitar and put those pickups in it.

I will always have a guitar with my favourite DiMarzios in it. I'll never ever let them go away.
This is why I didn't vote in the poll, because I can vote only when I can vote both DiMarzio and Bareknuckles.

Re: most toneful pickups

You put a dimarzio Fred & a tonestyler (cap selector/tone pot) in your axe and you will want to quit your job after the 1st day test driving it

you must read this

it's from chris broderick personal website:
http://www.chrisbroderick.com/html/gear.htm

gear? :
Guitars: A few Ibanez 7321 and 1527 7 string guitars with Bare Knuckle pickups in the bridge and neck position. I prefer those pickups because the custom is loud and has more note projection than any other pickup I've heard.

ooook...

next:

Pickups: DiMARZIO
