you must read this

it's from chris broderick personal website:
http://www.chrisbroderick.com/html/gear.htm

gear? :
Guitars: A few Ibanez 7321 and 1527 7 string guitars with Bare Knuckle pickups in the bridge and neck position. I prefer those pickups because the custom is loud and has more note projection than any other pickup I've heard.

ooook...

next:

Pickups: DiMARZIO

Re: most toneful pickups

Finally made up my mind. I voted for DiMarzio because I love the Evolution bridge I have in the neck of my Ibanez S320 and the Super 3 I have in the bridge of it.

The Painkillers will be for another guitar.

The weird thing I noticed is that most Ibanez lovers go for DiMarzio while the Gibson lovers go for Duncan Seymour.

Am I wrong?

Re: most toneful pickups

I personally like Bartolinis the best, because they give spectacular note separation from string to string. They just really appeal to me in general. I do like lots of pickups though, and there are tons of great pickups out there from lots of famous and not famous manufacturers, expensive and very reasonable. I absolutely loved the GFS pickups in my Epi Joe Pass, and I got both for less than the price of a single Duncan or Dimarzio.

Re: most toneful pickups

for the bridge position : Dimarzio Tonezone in mahogany bodies ( equal Ibz F2 )
my preference I cannot vote for : Kent Armstrong Motherbucker

I tried with success Bare Knuckles and BL XL500 that rock too !

in the neck position : DiMarzio Moe Joe !

Re: most toneful pickups

My favourites: DiMarzio Evo 2 and Seymour Duncan JB.

No favourite 7 yet... but I really dig the DiMarzio New 7 bridge on those old RG7620s!

Is anything that much interesting about Duncan Seymour. Actually I had a few Duncan Seymour and didn't like them very much but someone's trash could be someone else's gold.
