Which one if you could them both at the same price? Deciding between the two.

For me, it would be the 301. However, you have to make that choice based on what works best for you. Similar construction and playability, but do you want/need the tremolo?

Re: PGM301 or RG550 aniiversary RFR?

Yeah see there is the3 dilemma. I prefer fixed bridge, but sometimes I miss not having a tremolo. But I can always buy a tremol-no if I get the 550. I like the PGM a lot, but I've been leaning towards the RG550 because of the re-sell value. Ya know? The PGM will never sell for more. I also love the looks of the 550. The PGM as well, but the 550 a bit more. But on the other hand, the PGM comes with the PAF Pro's and the Jem single coil in the middle.....Hmmm such a hard decision.

You're comparing apples to oranges here.

The one thing to consider is the RG 20th is a limited run whereas PGM301s are plentiful.

Heh, our posts were nearly simultaneous.

That being said, never buy a new guitar for resale value - buy it to play it.

That being said, I would never buy an RG with a trem because I prefer a real Floyd Rose over all other trems.

I do however love the PGM301s. I love them so much I bought 2. It's a solid, dependable guitar.

Hahaha. Yeah I'm buying it to play it ofcourse, but if I decide to get something else along the road I would like to be able to get more than I paid for it. Do you think its possible to get a PGM301 in like new condition with case and all for 1000$(USD)? Or for that matter any PGM with a maple fretboard. If it was a different PGM I wouldn't be looking for a like new one.

I bought my second PGM off the 'bay for $850 shipped in like new condition, case included. Heck, it even still had the hang tags on it. If you're going to get a PGM for $1000 or less, a 301 is your best bet because at least they're plentiful compared to all the others.

What's the street value of an RG20th RFR at the moment?

PGM301 hands down. better pickups, the white is amazingly bright, the neck is a tad bit thicker than a Wizard II, it has a maple fretboard (which is sexy as hell) and a reversed headstock! PGM FTW!!!

Re: PGM301 or RG550 aniiversary RFR?

You've gotta play 'em Evan....it's all in the neck. Also, you seem to be playing alot of Pablo lately so you'll probably love the tone of the PGM 301. And the fact that you are mic'ing alot of your stuff, you'll hear he difference in the pickups.

On the other hand, the RFR looks amazing and that means you will always want to pick it up...and it will make you smile evrytime you see it neons have that on ya, you'll fall in love with it .....and let's face it it's highly sought after guitar.

But it will come down to the feel of the neck for you, bro, imho.
