Should Steve Vai's Liberty be the new National Anthem?

I think an update is due.

If not for the U.S., then definitely for someone. I'd vote for it for America.

Re: Should Steve Vai's Liberty be the new National Anthem?

I voted no. I love that tune and would be very happy to stand for the national anthem and hear some Vai blaring out, even though I'm in the UK, a Vai composed national anthem would be great. However, "Liberty" is an instrumental piece, I think a national anthem needs to have lyrics, so as people can have something to sing along to while standing for their respective anthem. A crowd of people humming a tune, while interesting might seem a bit... weird? As I said, great tune but not really appropriate for a National Anthem.

There actually are lyrics to the song if you read the liner of PAW...All for the life and love of liberty!

I like the funky key modulation at the end of "Oh Canada!"
