Yeah, why not. I used to write alot actually. Half of my band's lyrics were written by me. I still write every now and then too.

Re: Should we have a section for writings?

I vote no. There's already too many sections, and it should be kept focused on guitars. There's off-topic and chat forums, so they could be used instead. If anything, I'd like to see a gallery section where people can post pics of their custom or non-custom guitars.

I bring this up because I know there are word filters and the sub-forum wouldnt have them in place. I had mine deleted before.

Re: Should we have a section for writings?

I vote no for a few reasons, for one I'm kind of a jerk. Also most people have nothing important to say and giving these people a forum will bring in a wave of bad poetry that may bring the boards to a halt. Personally I think everyone can do without rantings about killing people, and seeing F*** every third word. Sure I don't have to read it and there may even be more than a few intelligent, insightful things posted, but I doubt it.
In fact the reason I haven't shared an writings with anyone here is because most of what I have to say has been said by someone else, and usually better.

Re: Should we have a section for writings?

I basically agree with El Cid, but if there was such a sub forum, I'd like
to submit this simple haiku:
f*** you, you dumb f***!
what the f*** is wrong with you?
f*** you, you dumb f***!

Of course, its possible that I'm way too cynical, and the considered
prose and poetry of others will reveal something enlightening, if not
positively beautiful. And if that happens, I'll join a convent, i swear

Mr WizardNeck, I'm afraid you simply don't have the highly refined,
exquisitely sophisticated sense of humor it takes to understand the
real hilarity of my haikus. I'm clearly a genius waiting to be discovered...

Re: Should we have a section for writings?

If you have lyrics and stuff you want to post you can put them in "Multimedia: Upload Pictures and Sounds" as the description allows for 'other files'.
That's a general enough place. Just be cool about it, okay? (as in, read the FAQ on posting in general if you haven't).
