Re: Shredders that blues!!
Pablo or R.K. without any shasow of a doubt. Both of them can lay back into the pocket of a good blues groove easy but at the drop of a hat kick it up 3 gears and rip.

Re: Shredders that blues!!
If I had to pick my favorite blues rockin' shredder from those I've seen or heard in the past few years, I'd choose Johnny A. The man plays with the groove and blues grit of
Jimi Hendrix
and has the fluidity of Al DiMeola.
A close second out of the newcomers and #1 in the over the top performance category goes to Eric Sardinas.

I don't think Mr Vai is a very good blues player though, he kinda sounded quirky when he's playing the blues, I think malmsteen is a better blues player than Mr Vai

Satch and
Neal Schon
. I just love Schon's bluesy stylings on Journey's 'Lights'.

Re: Shredders that blues!!
Id say gary moore, but then id say that gary is more of a blueser that can shred, rather than a shredder who can do the blues.
Out of that list, Dimebag and Yngwie... though yngwie can do the blues and im sure he could very well, he insists on spoiling his no doubt great blues skills by playing too fast.

Re: Shredders that blues!!
I thought Ry Cooder did all of the blues guitar in Crossroads and Vai only did the ending sequence stuff.

Re: Shredders that blues!!
Such a shame that Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani or
Tony MacAlpine
are on there....Vernon Reid even. Tony hardly plays blues much but I noticed on certain albums, he does a little bit of it.
I voted
Paul Gilbert
however.
