Gilbert by a narrow margin.
I like his songs better... I sing along with them, they're catchy and fun.

Steve Vai got many weird songs,(and many great ones yoo) but is a better entertainer.
is there any great gilbert-forums to visit?

50/50. They're both good in there own way as all guitar players are. Some people like one over another, but that's the way the world spins. hahaha

Steve vai, hands down. Paul gilbert's playing sounds lifeless and empty many times. Vai's playing definitely has more personality and emotion in my opinion.

Its got to be Gilbert, even though I really rate Vai. Paul just writes better songs on the whole and seems a bit cleaner and faster in my experience of watching the two guitarists. Vai's still the man though!
