Re: steve vai vs. paul gilbert

Gilbert - tone zone, faster, cleaner, funnier, shredder, better tone IMO

Vai - Jem, entertainer, weird songs, and lots of lydian, whammy voodoo

I'm still p*ssed off about Fox cancelling Futurama after 4 seasons. That show was good . Ah well at least we have Simpsons for two more seasons and a movie next year .

Re: steve vai vs. paul gilbert

I know! It's like it was cancelled because it was starting to overshadow Simpsons or something, which is really weird because Bender could've been "Homer-like" in his popularity given the oppotunity, IMHO.

I vote for Ralph Macchio. After all, he cleaned the floor with Vai in Crossroads.

Who is this Ralph guy? He must be very good then if Mr. Vai, who I consider as a divine entity of guitar, gets him to play all the hard parts! And why have I never heard of him?

Heck, I don't even consider myself a real Vai "fan" and I saw the movie and the "head cuttin" was the coolest part of the movie. Not only that, but those are some cool licks to practice your chops on and have been tabbed out just about everywhere. If you are a guitarist and a Vai fan and searched for tab, how could you miss it?
