Re: Survivorman or Man vs. Wild?
I like survivor man. He is by himself and actually survives off the land. Bear Grylls on the other hand is just demonstrating and sleeps in hotels in between days of shoots. There was an article about how he got busted sleeping in a hotel. Frankly I would be in a hotel too, but I digress. For me the survivor man is more real and genuine. Just my opinion though.

Re: Survivorman or Man vs. Wild?
I respect Les Stroud more because he was first and you know that what he does is for real. Bear Grylls is probably a fake.
But, with that said, I enjoy watching Man vs. Wild more. He picks more interesting environments/situations and is just more exciting to watch. I still watch Survivorman though.

Re: Survivorman or Man vs. Wild?
Man vs. Wild for me too. I don't care if Bear crashes at the Hilton between takes, buddy has been in the British SAS, survived a broken back, climbed Everest and all manner of other daredevil things too many to list. Enjoy the whirlpool tub and terry cloth robes after drinking the elephant poo water and building a shelter with leaves and a knife mate.

Is that true about Bear sleeping in hotels? I know he travels with a video crew. Makes it easier. Doing it by himself is a hole different situation. For that, I give it to Survivorman. But I like the things Bear does better and his locations.

Unfortunately, Les Stroud (Survivorman) is done. This is the final season, but I do enjoy his show. Did you guys know that Les is also an accomplished musician?
Bear on the other hand is more entertainment, but still quite useful.

I prefer Survivorman too. I tried to watch a couple man vs wild, just seemed a lot more staged.

Re: Survivorman or Man vs. Wild?
I've been watching the Survivorman episode when he's in the Equadorian Amazon.....I thought it seemed really realistic and convincing. As for Bear Grylls...he seems to go for shock-value too much.

Re: Survivorman or Man vs. Wild?
Yeah, I'd rather cook animals and distill water with Les than eat bugs and drink my own piss with Bear.
