Question

The new sharktooth inlays?

Hi,

I think the new sharktooth inlays are cool. They're a bit less obvious than the original white ones. But, I prefer dots, myself. How about all of you?

Re: The new sharktooth inlays?

I don't like sharktooth inlays of any type. I bought an RG750 back in 1990, so I guess I must have liked them when I was young and naive, but then I grew up and thought "WTF am I thinking!!?"

So now I prefer small dots, or no inlays at all, or something a bit less spiky so people wouldn't be able to say "he has sharktooth inlays, he must be into heavy metal!", and label me like I'm some kind of moron with a corny image.

This little lady would like sharktooth inlays (if inverted crucifix's were unavailable).

Lol! I like the Jackson inlays the best and yep, I like heavy metal. But on Ibanez, I'm with Dee. I like small dots, preferably off-set dots.

I agree. It gives the guitar a certain look... Like you said: heavy metal-ish, which you're either into, or not. It would ruin an RG for me, if I'd want one. It looks cool, but I prefer other inlays, personally.

What Ibanez could have, is an optional sharktooth inlay, if the customer so desired. That would be way better, imo.

Re: The new sharktooth inlays?

Yeah Alwin, that would be nice. In fact it would be nice if Ibanez had a custom option shop like Carvin.

Re: The new sharktooth inlays?

Yeah. I've heard others say that, as well. It would be great, but it's improbable, unfortunatly. On the Ibanez website it says they don't have that due to 'the increasing demand of Ibanez guitars around the world'. I don't understand that. I mean, Fender has a custom shop. And isn't there a great demand for Fenders, as well?
