Toneport?
My lovely girlfriend got me a gift voucher for my
local guitar shop
for my birthday and I'm seriously contemplating getting one of these bad boys
Can anyone give me a "Yeah they are good" or "Don't bother, get a 4 track"?
Basically I want a nice and easy way to get ideas down, with as little hassle as possible. I'm a guitarist, not a sound engineer, lol
Help me out fellas

Re: Toneport?
I have guitarport, which is brilliant for what I need, they do a rifftracker version too.

Re: Toneport?
I give it a thumbs up. I got the smaller one. After learning how to use the Ableton software that comes with the Toneport, I plug in and record in a flash.
Unlike the Guitarport, you have to either use powered monitors or headphones. You cannot hear your guitar through your computer's soundcard unless you run a line from the Toneport to the soundcard input.

Tone port rulez! But the ableton live lite software is just lame, only allows you to record with 4 tracks

Yeah, but that's all I need for my purposes. I can barely play enough to fill up one track.
What more do you really need to "get ideas down" if you're not a sound engineer???

Re: Toneport?
Thanks for the input guys
4 tracks is perfect for me really. You can always slap those for track onto 1 and add another 3 tracks anyway can't you?
I'm not using it for doing pro-level demos or anything. Just a bit of a toy

Re: Toneport?
I guess it depends if you are happy with modelling software rather than recording a real amp. If space/volume is an issue then I guess it's great. A mate of mine has one and loves it for late night practice.
Me? I'd invest the cash in a decent mic and digital recorder

I used a few tracks for a guitar one pan left and one pan right and one in the center, it sounded full that way, the same thing goes for drum, bass etc

Re: Toneport?
Yeah, I agree with all the above - amazing piece of kit. For the money, it's got some brilliant tones.
