Vai or Satch! Whos material is more difficult to play?

This stems from a recent thread in which got brutally and forcefully ganged up on

Sorry if this has been done before, but I did a search and couldn't find it. Now I know that certain songs from either artist are more difficult when compared to certain songs, but I'm talking about AS A WHOLE. In general, whos music is more difficult to play??

For me Vai's music is FAR more difficult to play. Hands down! Maybe that's just cuz I suck!

i voted vai too. IMO vais music is way more interesting as well as more complex too

We seem to be getting a lot of these 'spin-off' threads nowadays.

I play more Satch song simply because er, they're easier to nail. Vai's music is is more 'polished' so it's definitely tougher to play. Although there are a few Satch songs that I can't seem to find out how to nail yet...

I like Vai alot but Satch influenced me WAY more than Vai. I was 14 when Flying In A Blue Dream came out, the first time I heard it, I was hooked. He influenced me the most, him and Eric Johnson who I also love, well, EJ is probably my favorite along with Satch.

I went with Vai, but in fairness I haven't taken much time learning much of Satch's.

That's a reallllllly tough call. I think Vai is technically harder to play.

Geez - Vai is killin him. So where are all those folks beating me up yesterday telling me Satch is more difficult???

Again, this isn't "who's your fav" It's which one is more difficult to play

There are a certain group of techniques that Vai does (or more exactly used to do) that I've never heard Satch pull off before. I'm not saying Satch can't play em I'm just saying that Vai can make them seem effortless live and other player don't even attempt them.

"Dead horse" here. Then again, you can't expect to get an unbiased opinion about Steve Vai on a site dedicated to his signature guitar, not can you?
