Wah, before or after?

This has probbaly been discussed before but do you place your wah pedal before or after the rest of your effects in your signal chain?

Before everything else (that was back when I had a Crybaby wah, sold it since - might get a nice non-Dunlop one someday)

Re: Wah, before or after?

Depends what you want. Sometimes I used to put the wah last in the chain so I could change the tone of the delay repeats. There is no set way, it depends what you are trying to achieve, but generally I'd say put it first.

Re: Wah, before or after?

I've always used mine first in the chain but I recently put it last to for a change. It actually doesn't sound too bad last. I find it's a little less musical and a little more extreme but it's not bad. Just wondering what everyone else does.

Re: Wah, before or after?

Sometimes I actually like to have a distortion pedal (DS-1, TS-9 or what have you) before the wah, follow by the preamp. Creates a really metallic sounding wah.

Pretty cool IMHO

Re: Wah, before or after?

I guess mine is in the middle of the chain. I run all my effects separately with a looper, then only activate the ones I want when I want them. Sometimes my Wah is first, sometimes inthe middle and sometimes last. Sorry I was no help, I just like to vote.
