I went for musician because I play piano too and guitarist can imply just someone who picks up the instrument.

can't read music (kinda but not really) and i am not very well trained theory wise so i am just a guitar player wanting to become a musician

IT'S A JOKE ...... a stupid one at best but still... something I once heard. I couldn't care less about who can and can not read music, who thinks he or she is or isn't a musician, or a guitarist for that matter. WHATEVER YOU MAY CONSIDER YOURSELF TO BE JUST PLAY AND ENJOY IT! It's certainly not worth getting offended over.

more of a musician i think i would consider myself. I know how to read, know my theory, etc.. but i do play guitar only, so that would make me a guitarist. i'm confused.
