I like anything with well played guitars, as well as really well crafted songs.

Not into blues too much. The playing is too free and sloppy for my taste. Having said that, SRV was awesome. As well as Steve Cropper, Jeff Healey, Clapton in his hey day, and Joe Louis Walker is a neat guy to listen to although he is reeeal careless.

Some new country stuff is really good.The old players like Glen Campbell, and Roy Clark were amazing. I always thought that if you played a I-IV-V with distortion you were rock, with technique you were country, with distortion and technique you were metal, and with slop and gain you were blues...

i only like rock metal,hate pop music,my fav bands are whitesnake,van halen,dlr,80s big hair bands.just the sound of a turbo overdriven guitar gets me buzzing.nothing else cuts it for me

Honestly, I like virtually all of it, including some other types that are not mentioned above.

Lately I've been coming to appreciate vocal music more, just listening to vocal quality and ability, regardless of the type of music.

I am into 80's hard rock and metal as well!!!!
My first memory of a song was "Paranoid".........and for a 3-year old kid, it showed the way!!!
Now, a mature adult, or so I say, I keep listening to all the things that give me chills, especially slow bends, neoclassical runs, articulated vibrato and the list goes on...

I guess I've got pretty diverse taste - I own mostly metal, hard rock and blues, but I love country guitar, and I'll listen to hip hop or the like when the mood strikes. The song "the way I are" by timbaland gets stuck in my head every so often. But yeah, guitar music will do it for me most often . . .

Yep, I listen to just about everything listed. Most genres seem to have one thing or another that appeals to me.

I like jazz and fusion, and on the riock side I like prog, both old and new. Yes, DT, Genesis, Rush, and anything even remotely fusiony. Hiromi comes to mind Jimmy Bruno, Joe Pass, I can listen to guys like that all day no problem.

I find myself listening to rock, mostly. But I also enjoy a lot of other kinds of music, as you can see in the poll.

I like music with at least a certain amount of structure, in general. I can't listen to soundscapes for a long time, without losing interest.

Nor can I listen much to l-o-n-g improvisations, that don't really go anywhere.

I like lots of bits and pieces from different genres, but mainly I listen to jazz/fusion (Japanese fusion mostly, such as Trix, Casiopea, T-Square, Kenso, ExhiVision).

Some early punk: Subhumans (the UK version), Husker Du, Dead Kennedys.

Funk!

I also like bits of metal and a few rock bands like Roth-era Van Halen, Extreme, etc. Not sure what genre Living Colour come under, but they are one of my favourite bands.

I also like some old-school hip hip. Roots reggae and dub (70's stuff).

I listen to quite a bit of game soundtrack music: Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy music composer), Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears, etc).

I like some pop, as long as it's well-written.

Soul. Marvin G@ye is tremendous.

Favourite artist of any genre: Stevie Wonder, bar none. Genius.

Progressive for me.
It blends so many elements and the musicians have carte blanche to be creative and technical. Prog gets my motor runnin.
