I recently went back to Dunlop Delrin 500 1.14mm, after using 1.5mm for almost 2 years. The tone is not as muddy, and the rhythm playing is easier.

I started with the the Paul Gilbert picks, changed to Jazz III, changed to Ibanez's standard picks, currently using the logo slide guard picks.

I use picks that I make myself.
I make them from all sorts of stuff..Mammoth Ivory, Elephant Ivory, Siberian Musk Ox, Icelandic Rams Horn, Water Buffalo Horn, even Carbon Fiber..

The horns are the best for playing, the Ivories are very stiff...

Makes things cool..
I even make some picks for Satch himself..

For guitar I use Jazz III, for bass any large and hard(yes, I know how that sounds) pick will do.

I pretty much use the Paul Gilbert Ibanez picks. Something about those little tiny ones just works for me.

I have never seen Ibanez picks. Are they any different than let's say Fender picks?

What is cool about Ibanez though is they take a concept like a strat and improve on it (Blazer, Roadstar, RG, Jem), Les Paul (Ibanez Artist), ES-335 (John Scofield model), Floyd Rose (Edge tremolo), Fender Champ (Tube Screamer amps), and of course MXR Distortion+ (the iconic Tube Screamer pedal). It's never enough for Ibanez to make a direct copy but they add something players complain about and offer ideas for change.

I think perhaps the best thing they have ever done is the tube screamer.

The Ibanez picks to me are no different than the standard fender ones you would buy. I just like the design and feel of the small Paul Gilbert picks. Plus the thickness is just right for me. I like the .88mm

Too bad. I was hoping for something completely different and revolutionary, like Ibanez does from time to time.

I am sure, for instance, there are industrial plastics so hard they won't wear yet flexible in different degrees. I can wear down my favorite picks to where I don't like them anymore. The hard long wearing picks I use lack the flex I want and are not fun to play with.
