What should I name my guitar lesson business?
I am starting a guitar teaching business, which I have done for years, but this time will be on my own. Jemsite's "morbid" is building my website, but I need a name. Please let me know what your favorite of these names are, or if you think you have a better name, then please let me know.
Also, if you can think of any creative Logo's or T-shirt design ideas for any of these names, please let me know.
Thanks

One thing your "School of rock" option seems like you just copied the movie.
I like the cutting edge one, but change it to "Cutting Edge Guitar lessons" leave out the "The"
Just my 2 cents

"Based on Dreams guitar lessons" isn't bad, just a little long.

Re: What should I name my guitar lesson business?
You should have left an "other" option.
I'd say to drop the "guitar lessons" from the name of your business.
I'd go with Guitar 101. It is pretty obvious that you're selling guitar lessons that will appeal to everyone - it is a place to start.
Names like that make a play on words don't always work. Look at some of the most successful businesses around - McDonald's, Macy's, Best Buy, Guitar Center. Short and to the point. I don't need to figure out that "Wild Stringdom" is a play on "Wild Kingdom" (I think.)

Kirk, you'd just have to understand the location where I live.... if I don't put "guitar instruction" or "guitar lessons" at the end of my name (whatever it may be) then the phone isn't going to ring, plain and simple. You are right.... a play on words isn't always neccessary, but it never hurts to be memorable.
McDonald's, Best Buy, and Macy's all have alot more advertising dollars than I do to let the public know who they are and what they do.
Here's your chance to shine....if you were going to open up this same business tomorrow....what would you call it?

I think "Guitar Tuition" would sound more professional than "Guitar Lessons". Wild Stringdom is cool.
Wild Stringdom Guitar Tuition. Sounds good to me.

Re: What should I name my guitar lesson business?
Here's my take on the names.......
If you going to venture into teaching guitar lessons as a reputable business, you probably want people to take you seriously, so the names "let there be rock", "school of rock", "the six sense", "the cutting edge", and "based on dreams" are names that pretty much suggest that you not taking your business seriously by attaching a movie name.
Personally, I think that "Wild Stringdom" and "Wild Choir" are pretty original names and I would take the place seriously enough that I would bring my child to take lessons from you.
Just my $.02
Jimmy
