Who is better? Jason Becker or Marty Friedman?

I listen to a lot of a band called cacophony and I know Jason is more talented playing but Marty plays with so much soul and feeling and is also very awesome at guitar, just curious!

What a coincidence. I've been listening to Cacophony for the past hour or so. My favorite band. Although it is up for debate and I don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers I think Jason Becker was definitely the better player. His sweeps and alt picked runs just seem so much more fluid to me over Marty's playing(atleast I can hear a difference). It's really hard to get it out in words but there's just something about his playing that makes him seem better in my opinion. Both of them also have some amazing solo work so i'll give Marty some more credit there. But Becker still amazes me to this day as to how he could be so damn good when they made Speed Metal Symphony(he was 16/17).

I have always been a fan of Marty Friedman and Jason Becker. Jason Becker seemed to be a little faster to me, but I love Marty Friedman's phrasing and style. Both really phenomenal players.

Considering jason's condition, I'd say Marty by a landslide.

Seriously though, I haven't heard a lot of cacophony but concerto is one of my favorite guitar songs ever! I am a huge marty friedman fan. He is just so fun to listen to, his work with megadeth is amazing in my opinion.
